Snapshots of two microscopic interacting drops of quantum matter in a Bose-Einstein condensate. The two atomic species repel each other and thus tunnel through each other periodically approximately every 85 milliseconds. Plots generated by a computer simulation involving two nonlinear Schrödinger equations in a three-dimensional geometry that closely match the real laboratory experiments.
